Physiotherapy Treatment at Restore
Some examples of what we treat
How we treat
All our Physiotherapists providing treatment are registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).
For all musculoskeletal problems your first appointment is an initial assessment and will usually last between 30 and 45 minutes.
Your therapist will take a detailed history and then perform a thorough examination. At this point you may be asked to remove some clothing to allow a full examination of the problem area. You are welcome to bring along a chaperone to your treatment sessions if you wish.
At the end of the session we will talk through our findings with you so that we can agree a plan to tackle the problem and improve your symptoms. This will include information on diagnosis, the sort of treatment needed, timescale for recovery, number of sessions we think will be needed and the likely outcome.
Your treatment plan may include joint mobilisation or manipulation, Acupuncture, postural and ergonomic advice, core stability and Pilates exercises, lifestyle changes, therapeutic massage, deep transverse friction massage, heat and cold therapy, taping, ultrasound and Transcutaneous Electrical Nerve Stimulation (TENS). You can also expect to be given some exercises to do at home.
There is also usually time for some hands on treatment during the first session if it’s needed.
For most problems, 3 or 4 sessions with us are usually enough to resolve the issue. However it’s not unusual for people to call in for a one off session which is enough to reassure and set them off along the right track.
